Success Stories

Every company and every manager have their own genetics. That is why no deal is the same as another. For this reason, we believe in a hand-crafted, individualised consultation. We look forward to helping you create your success story.

Task:

The company, which has grown organically, has developed an interesting technology product and has built a good base of reference customers in Europe. It now has to decide between “home-made” – self-financed growth in its domestic market or taking a bold step into new markets. This calls for fresh capital – preferably from a provider of capital with expertise in the internationalisation of new technologies.

Outcome:

Lakeside Castle provided support to the founder during this strategic process and raised growth capital to the tune of EUR 5 million. Two internationally active venture capital companies with an explicit track record in technology supported the company as minority shareholders, not only with funds but also with their expertise and their contacts.
Thanks to the proceeds and the support from the new partners the company is now able to implement its growth strategy and achieve its planned doubling in sales within three years.

Task:

The privately-owned company had decided to go public. An expert was needed to accompany the process by providing specialist knowledge and expertise. This included choosing the right bank, the valuation, the placement strategy and above all the correct appraisal of all information for the management and the supervisory board – to identify all obstacles and difficulties as early as possible and take the respective countermeasures in due time, if something does no go according to plan.

Outcome:

The company went public in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt stock exchange within the set time frame and received proceeds of over EUR 40 million.

Task:

When the company became a customer of Lakeside Castle in 2013 it had a market capitalisation of less than EUR 50 million, the company was significantly undervalued, and the shares were highly illiquid.
Lakeside Castle was assigned with the task to develop the company in the capital market and improve both the valuation and the trading volume – also with a view to use the capital market in a reasonable way in the future to raise capital.

Outcome:

The market capitalisation has been gradually increased, the trading volume has grown, and the valuation asymmetry was eliminated. The company’s shareholder base has been significantly broadened and internationalised, the cooperation with different banks and analysts has been intensified.
In 2017, equity increased significantly on the back of a capital measure (10% capital increase under exclusion of subscription rights). Fresh capital of more than EUR 20 million will help the company to continue on its successful growth path.

Task:

Following a successful restructuring, a medium-sized mechanical engineering company is to be sold to a financial investor – unfortunately, there is a divergence of expectations and conflicting interests among the shareholders that need to be brought in line.

Outcome:

Lakeside Castle advised the main shareholders during the sales negotiations and the establishment of peace among the shareholders. The company was successfully sold to a well-known German private equity company. The company can now further accelerate growth with the new owners and get to work on the necessary investments.

Task:

The company, which is active in a very special area, has a lot of investors on its home turf but is hardly know in other countries. To satisfy the company’s hunger for capital in the long term new groups of investors have to be addressed and the use of different financial instruments has to be evaluated.

Outcome:

Since the start of cooperation in 2014, the shareholder base has been significantly diversified, new brokers have been gained for the shares and the overall awareness on the capital market has been enhanced. Capital increases were implemented in 2015 and 2017. Additionally, the company issued a convertible bond and has established an equity line. In total, the company raised fresh capital of more than EUR 25 million to continue to develop its pioneering technology.
